The picturesque town, South Dakota - once 'wild west' of a thriving city - are in the market for a starting price of $ 799,000 (£ 486.426).

The city has 46 acres of land, a post office, gas station, supermarket, two empty prisons and a pub.

Built in the early 20th century as a railroad stop and now the property of a lady, Scenic has suffered during the economic recession that has hit the U.S..

In the market for three years, the price has dropped from $ 3 million (1.8 million pounds) due to lack of buyer interest.
